My So-Called Life Re-watched
Episode 7: Why Jordan Can’t Read

There were only three of us this week, as other MSCLRW-ers were off visiting Legoland and packing for New York and other fun stuff. (Hey, I’m not bitter.) Others were absent without leave. (Again, not bitter.)

Three may be a crowd but we were a fun one, united in loving the episode where Angela and Jordan share their proper first kiss and — the moment I’d been waiting for since this whole thing began — Jordan sings “Red”. It’s not possible to quantify just how much that made me swoon the first time round.

This time round, it was still pretty swoony. But my young cat was being really funny — she’d discovered a packet of heel grips in my mum’s room the day before and over the course of the ep she managed to open them and was throwing them around the room with her mouth and paws, leaping on them, etc. It was quite the rival show. So I guess what I’m saying is: for me, cats are now as attention-grabbing as Jordan Catalano. I AM OLD.

Here’s some of what we said:

@Keris What is it with rescue fantasies? I was all about ‘em when I was a kid. (Me rescuing a boy, I mean, not vice versa.)

@Novelicious Oh Jordan. I don’t care if you can’t read. I’ll still love you. You big dumb hottie.

@Novelicious Love Rickie’s comment about when Jordan has Shop. So telling.

@Keris My inner teenager is enjoying this episode VERY MUCH.

@dianeshipley Hee. Danielle wants to date Brian. So wrong for so many reasons.

@Novelicious Lump in throat!

@Keris Tears in eyes.

@dianeshipley Poor Brian.

@Novelicious “I am gonna laugh and say see…I told you so” Love it. Great episode. Possible top 5.

@Keris I think that may have been my favourite episode yet. Not as good as The Zit, but less stressful. Plus KISSING!
